Ankara Cyberpark is a science and technology park established jointly by Bilkent University, the first private university and one of the best universities in terms of scientific research and technology development capacity in Turkey, and its affiliate Bilkent Holding, which has many companies with software development and R&D functions. It is established within the Bilkent University campus area, on a land of 55.8 hectares.
Within this regulatory framework, R&D companies located at Cyberpark are exempt from corporate taxes for the incomes generated from their software development and R&D activities, and from personal income taxes for their researchers, software development staff and R&D personnel working in the zones, until December 31st, 2013. There is also VAT exemptions for the software development activities. The companies in Cyberpark mainly operate in IT sector, while there are companies dealing with areas such as electronics, telecommunication, aerospace technologies, environmental technologies, biotechnology and nanotechnology.
Cyberpark is the largest technopark in Turkey in terms of business volume.
