Timisoara Software Business Incubator and Technology Transfer Center is a specialized incubator, offering office space and services to innovative start-ups registered in Timis County and active in the field of software development. The Incubator hosts at this stage a number of 14 companies, approaching its maximum capacity of 15 incubated companies.

Timisoara Industrial and Technological Park, Timisoara Freidorf Industrial Park, Arad Industrial Area are run by local public institutions, offering long-term land lease for Greenfield investments, mainly in high technology fields but also to regular manufacturing companies. Several private owned parks are offering for rent mainly all-equiped production spaces in the main cities of the region but also in smaller towns.

Research and development in the region is represented by both independent research institutions (in the fields of welding, chemistry, solid state physics, electrochemistry, crop sciences and food processing, mining, etc) and university-based research centers in various fields.  

Besides the Timisoara Software Business Incubator, there are similar organizations running in Arad and Deva, having a more general scope.

Educational system in West Romania Region is represented by 8 Universities located in all the four county in the Region, but Timisoara is the biggest university city of  the region. "Politehnica", West, Pharmacology and Medicine, Agricultural Sciences and Veterinarian Medicine Universities in Timisora are graduating a total of more than 10000 students per year, some of them completing studies in English or German.

The universities are developing joint research programmes together with local companies, mainly oriented to ready-to-apply research themes.

Specific training is offered in Region by a network of providers including vocational education institutions, permanent education institutes under authority of local universities, re-qualifying schools for unemployed persons, etc.

There is a significant number of private companies running personal and professional development programs.

West Romania Region is considered as the most "multicultural" region in Romania, a fact supported by a remarkable multilingualism of a significant number of people living here.

The support for the business start-up is represented by the above mentioned business incubators, by the four region's counties Chamber of Commerce and Industry providing trainings in entrepreneurship and business management linked topics, by the Regional Office for SMEs and Co-operatives, and also by association specifically dedicated to SMEs support. A number of EU funded projects focused on SME development were or are currently implemented in the region.

West Romania Region hosts two (euro)regionaly relevant fair centers, one in Timisoara and the other in Arad, run by the respective Chambers of Commerce, and seconded by smaller fair centers in Deva and Resita and another private run center in Timisoara.

The two major fair centers are organizing about 18 different fairs per year each, both specialized and general. There is a constant presence to this fair of Hungarian and Serbian companies, and there are also fairs totally dedicated to exhibiting companies from abroad (Italy and Hungary).
